Let Meg's age be m and Rolf be r

Now: m=2r ------------------- (1)
3 years ago: m - 3 = r + 2 -- (2) ====> m = r + 5 ---- (3)

Solving (1) and (3) ====> r = 5 (Answer choice D)

M = 2R ---(1)

M - 3 = R + 2
M = R + 5 ----------(2)

R + 5 = 2R
R = 5
