ve included.below.... For my "personal" development i'd like to talk about how my definition of success has changed over the last 2 years. Its a deeply personal story. Is the aforementioned response pertinent to the essay question....The "proactive" steps i took to develop "personally"?

I really can't answer that question without seeing the essay. I can imagine essays about a changing definition of success that would hit the mark. Bullseye.
I can also imagine essays fitting your description that wouldn't even be in the ballpark.
