I am a Japanese applicant born in UK and there is so much advice online, it is overwhelming.
Demographics:
-26 year old Male, Chinese born in UK (27 at joining). I am fluent in Chinese/English.
GMAT:
- 740, even balance
Undergrad:
- Ranked 20 British University
- Top student out of 250
- Summer program at Harvard with an 'A' grade and a 'B' Grade
Postgrad:
- Imperial College London, full time masters program.
- Merit score (62%), but worked full time in M&A Investment Banking as an intern at the same time
Professional qualifications:
Passed 3 levels of the CFA and awaiting a few more months work experience before I can apply to be qualified.
Work Experience: (3 years at matriculation or 4.5 including entrepreneurial work and post graduation internships):
-10 Months as a senior Analyst (current job) at bank like (Greenhill, Houlihan Lokey, William Blair, Moelis). Will be promoted April 2016 to Associate and expect great recommendations from top senior bankers
-15 months as an analyst at a small investment bank focused on industrials (30) people
-8 months long term investment banking internship at Credit Agricole
-3 months internship at small private equity fund
-1 year, built, operated and sold a business/idea for £250,000 in the chemicals distribution industry
Volunteer Experience:
-Teaching mathematics and physics every weekend for 4 hours
-Supervisory board member for a local charity that meets 4 times a year
Post MBA Goal (will articulate it in application):
-Private equity
-long term goal to operate a family-owned industrial business in China
Targeting M7.
Is it also interesting that at this age, I have managed to purchase 7 flats in London? This is utilizing my own resources and there was no family contribution.
