Profile: Completed Engineering in E&TC with 7.7GPA but I have 13 backlogs

I'm no expert but that's a pretty good GPA and good work exp at known brands. IIT, TCS, Cognizant all help your case. The research papers are a plus definitely and I'd bring that out in my essays.
700+ for LBS is a good target, but there are people who got in with lesser as well.

Given your aspiration of targeting LBS, I must say that it is indeed one of the most competitive schools worldwide. That said, your chances of acceptance is based on several factors like your academics, extracurriculars, practical experiences, and your GMAT score.
To start with your GPA of 7.7 showcases your academic prowess; however, your 13 backlogs can pose some minor issues in your chance of acceptance. You can counter it by providing proper reasoning and a solid alibi backing the same like any medical issues or health reasons. You can further compensate for the same by shining light on the endeavours that you undertook in your extracurriculars and your professional work experience. You can dig deep in these to bring out a diverse set of skills.
Moving on to your working experience, you have interned at some of the notable big brands like IIT BHU and Cognizant which is an added feather to your hat as you will be competing against a pool of applicants hailing from Big4 firms. Here, showcasing your journey and the learnings gathered through this experience would allow you to differentiate yourself and gain the upper hand with equally competent profiles with extensive work experience hailing from similar big brands. Business schools also require the students to showcase leadership skills and initiative-taking capabilities; hence, you ought to explain and highlight your work’s major projects and how these experiences helped you develop and further groom your skills and knowledge.

Coming to your GMAT, a minimum score of 690 is what you would require for targeting a school like LBS.
