Can you please evaluate my profile.
UG- BITS-Pilani India
Dual degree- MSc Economics, BE Electronics and Instrumentation
UG Thesis- 6 month thesis in economics
GPA- 8.1
GMAT 670 Q47, V 35 AWA 5.5
Internship - 6 months- Cypress semicondutor- Worked in sales analytics and M&A.
Work ex- 2 years- Same company- Working on statistical forecasting models for sales.
Excellent spreadsheet and VBA skills. Also have international exposure.
Other credentials- Cleared CFA Level 2. Will be writing Level III june 2012.

Targetting MIM in HEC Paris, ESCP, ESSEC and EDHEC. My focus is on finance. What do you think are my chances for these schools?

Your GMAT seems low for ESSEC and HEC Paris, but it seems that EDHEC is fine with it (I believe that ESCP has its own separate admissions exam that you must pass separate from the GMAT). Once your GMAT is in their range, I do think that your analytical abilities outshine your interpersonal skills. I would recommend that you highlight that interpersonal side of you as well.

Hey,
I am new to this. So I have done my Masters in commerce but it is of no value. I graduated in 2012. I only have one part of the Final level of Indian CA exams. I finished my training in Bombay, India during which I was working as an audit assistant. I'm right now appearing for CMA which I will be finished with by December 2015. I was working with an audit firm here in Dubai, UAE for 2 years but now I'm working with an insurance broker in Internal audit. I'm planning to apply next year for an MIM with HEC. My extra circular activities are restricted to some volunteering work with an NGO here. So I wanted to know how should I go about it from here ? What is the GMAT score I should aim for and do I have a chance ? I don't want to do an Msc in Finance. And I'm 25 years old.

Hi Roshni,
Here is your profile evaluation:

Strengths: Well you have a decent extra curricular background, NGO experience is a very big help and is valued a lot internationally, so that can definitely be used in your essays to boost your application.
You have rich work experience, with the CFA level and other financial certificates you are appearing for. This can show that you are passionate about Finance and your work, and are constantly moving up( changes in job profile).
The fact that you have been working abroad will really help you out, as panels love people who have an international mindset and have been travelling or working abroad. We have done some research on it, and people with an International background are favored a lot.

Weaknesses: You have limited extra curriculars, or maybe you have just not listed it out here. So more detailed info is needed.
Also strong essays would be needed to make up for the lack of such activities and also highlight other dimensions of your life, apart from your work.

Well you have a good profile, if you really want to maximize your chances for HEC i would recommend getting a score above 710,and submitting a really great application package.
Also i would suggest targeting some back up colleges, there are some really great colleges on the level of HEC such as ESSEC, ESCP, LBS etc
