I recently concluded my GMAT and got a score of 680. Quants = 48 ; Verbal = 34
My extra curricular activities are moderate, nothing exceptional yet nothing too minor.
I (will) have attained a First Class degree from a top 10 Engineering Institution from my country. The GPA is 6.73/10 but the college grading system is tough and a 6.5+ GPA entails a First class degree.
1) While I know my GPA/GMAT are not top grade, what are the chances that I could make it to MiM,HEC Paris on its basis for 2012 intake?
2) If the risk is too high is it advisable for me to retake the GMAT? I have a definite feeling I could improve at verbal.
3) If not the HEC Paris, what are my chances for ESSEC or ESCP, EMLyon and Skema through the SAI?
4) Does it matter a lot whether I apply through Autumn Session(GMAT 700+) or Winter Session(GMAT<700)?
Any insight from anyone would be very highly appreciated.

You didn't mention when you graduated so I don't know whether the MSc in Management programs make a good choice: this program is aimed at recent grads with little to no business experience. I will say that your GMAT and GPA are both compared to your peers: in other words, if you have "nothing exceptional" in your background, then you could use a little boost from your GMAT/GPA. Both of yours are coming across as pretty average (yes, the 6.73 is taken into the context of its being from a tough foreign institution), so I would suggest retaking the GMAT.

UG Thesis- 6 month thesis in economics
GPA- 8.1
GMAT 670 Q47, V 35 AWA 5.5
Internship - 6 months- Cypress semicondutor- Worked in sales analytics and M&A.
Work ex- 2 years- Same company- Working on statistical forecasting models for sales.
Excellent spreadsheet and VBA skills. Also have international exposure.
Other credentials- Cleared CFA Level 2. Will be writing Level III june 2012.
Targetting MIM in HEC Paris, ESCP, ESSEC and EDHEC. My focus is on finance. What do you think are my chances for these schools?
