Hi Folks,
I don’t have much to spend on admission consultants so I will be doing my application process myself. I have low gpa ( 6.2), and I’m preparing for GMAT I can definitely score good in it. I have 1.7 years of work experience. Can someone guide me how I can put in my best application ? Also I’ve heard cause of my low gpa I can’t get into public universities in Germany is it true?
Hi
Ayovirgin,
Low GPA isn’t a dealbreaker, but you’ll need to address it smartly. A strong GMAT score can significantly offset a 6.2 GPA. Use your optional essay to briefly explain any challenges and emphasize your growth since then.
With 1.7 years of work experience, focus on highlighting leadership and impact, even in a short timeframe. Some schools accept applicants with less than 2 years, especially early-career or MiM programs.
Regarding Germany, public universities often have GPA cutoffs, but these vary by school and your GPA may convert differently. Some schools also consider strong GMAT scores and your overall profile holistically. Private schools tend to be more flexible.
Focus on:
- Crushing the GMAT
- Writing a clear, goal-driven SOP
- Getting strong recommendations
- Applying to a balanced mix of schools
