I dont know the answer to this exact question but to be honest I think its safe to write it as early as possible to get it out of the way. To have a smooth app process you might want to give yourself some time in case other things come up. Often things at work or personal life pop up at the worst time.

Yeah, I've this exact same question. Also, is it preferable to apply on Round 1?
I've just started my preparation and I don't think I can make it in time for Round 1. I'm open to suggestions.

TIA.

Try to write the exam at least two weeks before the deadline. The earlier you write, the more time you have for application.
