Calling all MIT LGO Applicants: (2017 Intake) Class of 2019!!

As a techie in the Bay Area (originally not from Bay Area), I've ran into many many Stanford alum who (inadvertently or not) exhibit... a lot of pride in their brand (esp. the younger ones). It may come off as distasteful at first, but they mean no harm .

Maybe by taking the GMAT one last time, but I'm not sure yet. Otherwise I'll probably hit up a bar with some friends.

Why take the GMAT again when you got accepted?

I'm probably gonna sell my car actually. I won't need one in the Boston area and can always get a ZipCar or something if I do. One less monthly payment while I have no income :p

We'll be selling ours, but that's because we need to upgrade. Can't fit my whole family in our sedan anymore.

Well, thanks for clarifying. I do believe I could've been a little more careful in framing my statements. But I never said Stanford>>>>>>>>MIT when I did not get the interview. I said it after I already had an interview. And while I am sure this is not in anyway redeeming me of ranting, thats just what I felt at the moment.

I still stand by my view that Stanford's MBA is a better choice. There is another person on this forum who decided to not even interview for LGO after they got into Stanford. If anything, I have been honest about how I feel. I love both these schools. I've lived through the exact dilemma during undergrad too. And I don't think by believing Stanford's MBA to be greater than MITs (not comparing LGO or MS/SM, just MBA) , I am in any way demeaning anyone of the hardwork they put in.

And if anyone thinks I am being a tool by saying Stanford>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sloan for MBA, please check acceptance rates, starting salaries or ask anyone with an MBA. During my interview, I clearly stated I got into Stanford and I wasn't sure if by interviewing for LGO, I took someone's spot. I also stated that I believed GSB's MBA is a better program than Sloan's but LGO was just a different ball game altogether. Not only did the adcom clarify things for me, they were respectful and yet they offered me a position in the class. As an LGO, you can attend a lot of the MBA classes at Harvard if an equivalent is available and you bid properly.

I thought this forum was a place where we could open up. I guess I was wrong. Yet, my sincere apologies to those whose feelings I've hurt. I hope we can put this matter to bed.

Thanks so what's the choice going to be?

A bit too early to ask, the official scholarship offers haven't come out yet.

Because I'm anxious, and just want a call or email from LGO...

Last year they called on the 26th of February, which was a Friday, and they were going to send out admits on Tuesday, March 1st.

So nervous. Hoping maybe it will be before Friday.

The email said:

"Next Friday, March 3, all applicants will receive an email by 5:00 p.m. EST notifying them of their MIT Leaders for Global Operations admissions decision."

So they'll be emailing everyone, but do you think they'll also call the admitted candidates (maybe a few days before the emails are sent out)?

They called last year. I got an email saying I didn't get in on the 1st of March.

I'll wager 500 imaginary internet points that it will be Wednesday for the calls. Call me crazy, but gotta live on the edge sometimes.

That's exactly what I was thinking; seems to be the pattern in recent years at least. Gonna be kinda hard to concentrate at work this week...

I'm over here looking at my phone like a crazy waiting for anything.

So usually they will call the Wednesday before Friday deadlines????
