Hi all,
after getting great advice here about MSc / MBA, I have yet another favour to ask - I took my GMAT last week and am in 2 minds at the moment about whether to retake or not.
I am going to apply for an MSc programme in Europe, but I want to do a double degree in either Asia or the Americas and I guess my GMAT will also play a big role when being admitted to my "second University".
My profile:
Female, German, 22 years. Undergrad in International Business & Management (BSc with Hons), graduating in June 2013 with a first class degree (I think GPA is 3.7-4.0?). Did a 13 month internship last year with one of the Big 4, working on their Olympic hospitality & client engagement programme. Lots of extracurricular activities in Uni societies, working with disabled children, and student representation, also finalist for "Management Undergraduate of the Year 2012".
GMAT: 690 (QU 45 V 40), don't know yet about IR and AWA.
Ideally I'd also like to apply for a scholarship so I guess that's where the GMAT is quite important as well.
The Unis I want to apply to are: HEC, ESADE, ESCP, ESSEC and HSG St Gallen.
I am thinking about redoing my GMAT just before Christmas. Obviously I'm currently in my final year so have lots and lots of work, but I think I would be able to dedicate 2 hours each day to preparing for the GMAT. I would be happy with 720 and I think I could do it, my problem is the maths section and I am thinking about getting the MGMAT books and working through the concepts and harder problems. I know that I don't have the right concepts to solve all the questions (ie for a lot I plug in numbers when really there's a more efficient and quicker way to do it - but I don't know how to).
I am planning to apply to my Universities in January, so I would have time over Christmas and New Year's to do my motivational letters and rest of application (I already have my 2 recommendations).
Any advice would be much appreciated - I am not too worried about getting into one of those 5 schools with 690, but my worry is the international exchange and the chance for a scholarship.
