Hi Everyone-
I am currently a masters student studying real estate development at USC. I have one year in real estate experience and am thinking about applying to Oxford's financial economics MSc.
Reason for this masters: I've been slowly realizing I want to work on the private equity side of real estate. As I've been exploring this, I've seen this field is more focused on finance and technical skills I don't have. I want to really understand economics, finance, and the way these two fields affect real estate.
I have a b.a. in economics with a 3.7 from a state school.
Concerns:
1) I have a 710 gmat with a 47/41 split. The 47 is only a 70% in quant and oxford says they expect an average of 90% on the quant. The program has an average gmat score of 730
I can take the gre and score much high percentile wise on the quant- I took a practice test and it's much easier. However, my verbal would be very low roughly 50/60 percentile. Not sure how that plays out.
2) That I am already in a masters program studying a non-related field.
Any suggestions or insight would be great.
Thank You
