Congratulations on your great score.
one question.
when you cancelled the score, were you able to see the score and cancelled or is it you can only only cancel after you see the score?
Materials Used: Short Answer...I have each and every material you can possibly find on the web and have gone through them some or the other time
To cite the best- TWR Lectures..The best possible resource(especially for SC)..
Here follow the details:
SC: Thursdays with Ron,GMAT PREP COLLECTIONhttps://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/thursdays-with-ron/all-gmatprep-questions-quant-verbal-187679.htmlScrutinize each and every question on GMAT CLUB &
MGMAT Forum
Besides these, I have gone through
OG-13 and
MGMAT SC(This one was my first stepping stone towards SC)
I also joined
egmat..did complete a couple of quizzes..but there strategy was quite lengthy for me to follow...so I went ahead with the Ron way
For SC, I think the other thing that worked for me was the reading..I would highly recommend following this path if you are a non-native speaker and have lots of time, say a year, to prepare for the GMAT.I read quite a few on the must read for Verbal list by BB..Also am an ardent follower of the Economist..Love each and every article.
RC: Materials that Helped:Thursdays with Ron,OG,GMAT PREPI tried using strategies here..but in the flow of the exam I would always return back to my original one.
Read the passage thoroughly..Understood the details & what the author meant to say..If I could not understood any, I would skip that part move ahead..but made sure to understand why was it there..(think this is where the reading helps..)
I would seldom refer back to the passage..only if I was not sure of one of the options in the detail questions..
I always had a 90% plus accuracy on RC..so this was not much of a concern..though I did all prep RC's and Qpack RC's
CR: This is a tough one..the key here is to practice and follow a standard approach.
I used the CR Bible..pretty much acquainted me with all the traps and also all the ways to spot the traps..
I would like to point out on thing here..The CR's were a night mare in my GMAT..(both the times)..twice I guess I had a BF question..and I guess I bummed in the CR section both the times.Twice I had the answer F in a weaken and an assumption questions on the GMAT,,wasted a lot of time on both
Quant- I have attached material I used for Quant
I also did the
GMAT CLUB TESTS(Had to part with 50 precious kudos for these..but kudos well spent
)..Helped a lot
Bunuel(I guess he is a team of Asians sitting in an AC office somewhere in the Hawaii) will answer each and every question of yours,no matter how dumb..so don't hesitate
I did the Advanced
MGMAT Quant after the tests..10 days prior to my GMAT..Excellent resource..GMAT will be a cake walk post this
For PnC,Prob,Stats- No one can beat the Veritas Guys..
For the most hated PnC and Prob:
Do check all the posts on -
https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/2011/11 ... ke-groups/This is all the Bunuel Signature Collection in offline format...This also contains the Veritas Resource I cited above(At least it did when I downloaded it)
bunuel-signature-collection-the-next-generation-170062.htmlIf People are interested in my GMAT Experience & my mock scores..let me know..This was the one to help out those lost in the ever growing maze of available materials
Finally I would recommend buying the Premium Membership..Got the Veritas tests plus the discount on the additional GMAT Preps and Q-pack..(Both are a must in your prep)..you get the
GMAT CLUB tests..another must for a Q51..If you do the Math you save double that you spent..
Mocks & Timing Strategy- 4 from Veritas,4 From
MGMAT and 4 Gmat preps..Mocks help you a lot in deciding a timing strategy..
Veritas is Accurate..Prep is best..but its still easier than the actual one..
MGMAT is a night mare
I used this
Just as the exam begins..chart this in a corner
75 65 55 45 35 25 15 05
1 6 11 16 21 26 31 36
This one is for Quant..top row denotes the time remaining and the bottom row the question number you should be sitting on..Approx 5 per 10 mins
For Verbal
75 65 55 45 35 25 15 05
1 6 11 16 22 28 34 40
Spend more on the initial 15 and later on a rate of 6Q per 10mins
Many Thanks to Bunuel,PiyushK,BB,MikemcGary,Karishma,Carcass,Souvik..
PS: Just got mod rights the day before my GMAT..It helped a lot..my confidence was sky high..thanks again BB
