i went for C though i knew it was a question of n as odd or even? my reasoning was if i take 1 as a value of n then the expression becomes 0. My understanding was that 0 is not a multiple of any value.

please someone clear my doubts.
if we go by theory, 0 is also divisible by 24. as 0 is a multiple of 24

If n is a positive integer, is n(n^2 - 1) is divisible by 24?

(1) n is divisible by 3.

(2) n is odd
At first, we can break \(n(n^2 - 1)\) into (n-1)n(n+1).
Let us take statement 1. If n=1,3,5... then the product is divisible by 24. If n=2,4,6... then the product is not divisible by 24. Insufficient.
Let us take statement 2. If n=1,3,5... then the product is divisible by 24. Additionally, statement 2 says n is odd. This is sufficient.

Option (B) is correct.
