Hi all,

Just my perspective GMATBusters is one of the best online tutors I know. The best thing about the tutor is that he specifically works on your weak areas. I improved from Q 47 to Q 49, which is a significant progression considering the fact that to improve every single point in quant is tougher than it seems to be. The tutor is also flexible with the content of the class you want.

For example, in one of the classes, I asked him to take just DS on integer properties and mix it up with hard PS on Geometry. And boy was I amazed with the session !!! The tutor also provided video recording, and during the class, he gave enough time to solve the question rather than feed formula or an approach of a spoon.

The tutor helped me analyze questions, enhancing my approach towards a quant question. You can get a free demo class from the rewards section of the gmatclub. SHOUTOUT TO GMC TEAM !!!!

PS: IanStewart has amazing problem sets and those practice sets helped me a lot as well, as they were fresh and provided comprehensive solutions .... !!! He is a PhD btw !!!

Anyone know of a good GMAT tutor in Houston Texas? Or maybe you are just smart and can help me?

I’ve been scoring around 630-650 in GMAT (quant 42-46, verbal 30-36 range) and just can’t seem to make further improvements, despite months of prep. I’ve been doing Manhattan books and e-Gmat online and just hitting the ceiling at this point. Need HELP desperately.

The best tutors did not do in-person tutoring pre-COVID and I think now, none of them do it. Thus by extension, if someone agrees to meet with you in person, they are likely not very busy and by extension, again not good. it really does not seem to be necessary to meet in person...

Is there a reason you want someone from East Texas? Would Dallas or New York Tutor not work for ya?

Hi shaunayang71,

Based on your CAT/mock results, you have a great opportunity to pick up points in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections - but if you've been consistently scoring at that level for some time, then it's likely that you have developed some 'bad habits' that are keeping you from scoring higher. To score at a notably higher level, we define and fix those bad habits (and replace them with new 'good habits'). Based on what you describe, it's not clear whether you actually need a tutor or not, so before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied in total? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
3) What is your overall goal score?
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi [email protected],

If you are open to working with online tutors, then I can definitely help you with the same. We do offer personal tutoring for students who are looking for personal guidance and attention from the experts. We employ hybrid learning in which the expert analyzes your performance on the dashboard and then prepares the content for the next session so that he can address your concerns in a more effective way.

If you wish to know how our private tutoring works, I can arrange a free demo session for you. You can select the topic on which you want the expert to take the session. This demo session will help you get a clear picture before you start working with the expert. You can use the below link to get schedule a free demo session.

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. So, before thinking about a GMAT tutor, the real question that you need to answer is why, after many months of prep, you are unable to improve your GMAT score. Although a tutor can certainly help you improve your GMAT skills, the bulk of your prep will still be done independently. Thus, even if you end up working with a tutor, you want to ensure that you use thorough prep materials to improve your GMAT skills in between your sessions. With that in mind, I recommend that you spend some time reading success stories of past GMAT students as well as reviews of various GMAT prep courses to see what prep materials have worked for other test-takers.

You also may find it helpful to read this article about how to score a 700+ on the GMAT.

If you have any further questions regarding your study plan, feel free to reach out.

Hi [email protected],

I didn't take any tutoring but I went with the online course of GMATWhiz. I found their course to be very good as it rightly focused on the teaching the methods and strategies. And I heard that their private tutoring is also good. So, if you are looking for one, you can check it out.
