Thanks Linda for your valuable inputs.
My short term goal is to do a good consulting job for 8-10 years and then to startup my own business.

Can you please tell me what are the schools I can apply to
1) For regular MBA(whether it will be a good choice if I want to do career switch)
2) EMBA

Also can you suggest me which one will be the better option for me at this point of my career? Why I am asking this is because I initially thought that even doing an EMBA will provide me the opportunity to switch my career if I want to,but as you said it is more like career enhancer so I am curious to know which one to opt now.

With this score are my chances for EMBA good or should I go for another attempt? Also I think EMBA is much costlier than the regular MBA. Is this the case?
Also I have some hint that most of the EMBAs are not regular full week study programs, these are only weekend class based. Are there colleges which provide the regular full week study courses?

If you want to switch into management consulting in the US, you really want a GMAT score that starts with a 7. The regular MBA is a better choice for career changer. You are correct that most EMBA program are part-time. For you at this stage, a regular full-time, two-year program is probably best.

After you retake the GMAT, please post again with your newest score and then I'll recommend schools.

Regards,
Linda

VJ, Because of your nearly 10 years of experience, I do think that you need to consider at least some EMBA programs. The good news is that GMAT is less important for these, but the bad news is that career changes are more difficult thereafter.
Have you heard about the Sloan Fellows/Sloan Master's programs at LBS, MIT, and Stanford and the Nanyang Fellows program? These are full-time, one-year programs for more experienced applicants. One of these may make sense for you.
