as I ordered nearly the same books and will start within the next days with the Foundations - first Quant and then - Verbal, I would love to hear your bok review as well as how you want to proceed further on.

At last back from vacation and ready to get back into the swing of things. I will begin with Foundations of Verbal later today, but before I do I wanted to post a review of Foundations of Math:
Throughout the thread you may have noticed that I repeatedly state that the content in each chapter of this book is very base and simple. This is, in fact, true. However, this in no way lessens the value and the knowledge/reminders that this books seeks to impart. Having completed the entire text and looking at the experience holistically I can honestly say that even with my strong math background and the relative ease and speed with which I made my way through this text it is a very worthwhile starting point for preparing yourself for GMAT Quant. On my first go around I believe I missed many of the simple Quant problems just because I didn't have intricate familiarity with the very basic rules presented and drilled in this book. As such I would highly recommend it to anyone beginning their studies, REGARDLESS OF THEIR MATH BACKGROUND! If you want to do well in Quant you have to make sure to know the basics inside and out, forwards and backwards because you better believe the GMAC know how to twist even these simple little rules and problems into seemingly complex monstrosities. Trust me, get this book regardless of your mathematical know how. If you are good at Math you can easily cover this book in 6-8hrs (and that's reading every single line and doing every single problem) and if you're not, well then you definitely need this book!
Let me know if you have any other questions I can answer about this particular book and I will do my best.
Now on to Verbal, I can only hope it is as fundamentally sound and excellent as Math was because I think I really need the foundation-al help in this area! I will be posting progress updates and thoughts on the individual chapters as I move through them.
Next vacation isn't until Dec. 22nd so my goal is to make my way through this book (I will be taking a lot more time on it than on Math due to my perceived weakness with the subject matter), review both foundations books, and finalize my post-vacation strategy for attacking the 8 MGMAT guides by that date.
