Hi everyone
I’m new here, thinking of switching from medical field which I’m still not sure about. Gave my first mock on GMAT club, scored a 595 without prep. Is there anyone who made the same switch like me? And I think 595 isn’t bad but I’m not really sure how the scoring works in GMAT. Any tips and advice would be helpful.

break-up of sectional scores shall tell you the strengths and weakness, aim for 80+ in each section for a decent score[also based on schools you wish to apply, set a target score, leverage strength area to push scores, work towards your weak areas to balance the score, fill knowledge gaps & concept clarity if any]

Hi GmatStuck, not specific to TTP, but most of the suggestions I’ve seen are to stick with official questions for Verbal.

There are abundance of official questions available. You can use source tags Official Guide, Verbal Review, GMAT Prep (Classic), as well as LSAT.

Hey everyone, is verbal section of GMAT club full length tests comparable to official GMAT ?
I generally don’t see BF or Flaw or Paradox questions on the mock tests here. Plus, CR section generally feels relatively easy.
If so, where else can I practice to check my real level?

Nope, they aren’t.

one more question - I feel DI section of full length tests have weak MSR sets, they’re almost predictable after solving 1-2 full length tests. Is it for me or anyone else is also facing the same issue ?

My quant sectional marks from GMATClub have been in the range Q78-79(Given 4 sectional mocks).
I then attempted an official full mock yesterday, but my quant sectional plummeted down to Q70. I spent an usual amount of time early on for the first 10-12 questions(Got 7 correct out of first 11), but all the questions from 13th to 21st were incorrect, primarily as was running out of time and guess-marked all of those in the last 2-3 minutes.

I have hence not been able to correlate my sectional mock score with the one on the official mock which I got. And I believe anxiety too would’ve pulled my performance down.
Can anyone please provide/suggest the way forward with this. Thanks in advance.

I honestly believe the only proper way to improve is to speak. If you stuck due to lack of words, even if you learn a lot of words the only way to make them practically available is to use them. It takes time but you would get there

first try to find out the root cause of the issue.
1. Either you’re conceptually weak and hence take a lot of time early on which leads to rushing in the later questions
2. You get anxious in timed environment, you can confirm this if you’re able to solve the questions you got wrong in the test without actually looking at the solution and easing yourself off from the pressure.

For 1st point : go to the search bar and look for a high rated PDF/downloadable to brush up your concepts. If you’re maintaining an error log, check topics which pesters you the most. Work on them in decreasing order of mistakes.

For 2nd point : try to build endurance. Take short tests of 10 questions first and adapt yourself with the pressure. Build your way to sectional length of 45 mins and ultimately building your way to Full length mocks.

Hope this helps!
