hi guys, I took my first gmat on December 5th and got 595. I wanted to score better, specifically +650 so I decided to take it one more time. I was actually planning to take it at the end of January, around 28-30th but there is only one test center in my city and the only available slot was on January 15. So I had to take it. Yesterday I took the exam. I always start with verbal bcs I need to have a clear mind when I am taking it. It is s mainly bcs English is not my first language. Then I always take the break and cont, nue with data and finally quant because it is the one I am confident with actually. In verbal, 4-5 questions challenged me but I was literally shocked when I saw data insights bcs the questions were way much longer and harder than the ones I saw on mocks or practice questions. So I was literally frustrated. Quant did not challenged me and I was able to solve the questions. In my first gmat I had troubles with timing in data and quant. at least this time I had enough time to "try" to solve the questions. Then, I received my score, 565. I am sad now. I knew I didn’t perform well yesterday but still it hurts. Surprisingly, I also saw that verbal did not go as I assumed and I made more mistakes than I expected. Data, as I expected, was horrible. I got 82,78,74 in quant, verbal, and data.,respectively. I don’t know what to do. I am also having a full-day internship right now and I studied after work everyday, when I was preparing for the exam second time. Exam is also too expensive, especially if your a unit of your currency equals 50 dollars. I don’t know if you will read the whole text, and I really appreciate it if you are, pls give me suggestions.

Hi @wowoche, I’m really sorry to hear this. I’d be happy to help you analyze your attempts, but I’ll need a bit more detail about both of them. Feel free to PM/DM me, and I’ll be glad to share my thoughts.

how do yall juggle gmat prep with work?
i had such an amazing rhythm going on in december when work was slow. now that work's hectic, i've practically not been able to study even once this week. I was averaging 650-700 until last month and i feel this lack of practice is sliding me back. it's crazy to overwork through the day and still go to bed feeling like crap because you couldn't study.

What would you suggest as the best resource for preparing for GMAT? I have limited resources and don’t want to invest in something that doesn’t give me outcomes.

Guys
I m reaching out here to ask which material or course worked for you guys and would love to know abt that.

I am not an avid reader and english language skills are also average, good for regular conversation.
In the past i had purchased a course, but the platform content delivery sucked for me to continue on it. Content was fairly average i presume, i must not deny that it gave me some clarity but still GMAT Verbal didnt click through that.

I am a working professional with timing 7 am to 7 pm.

For now i have few options
1. continue with that since i already used it (e-gmat)
2. gmatwhiz: i found their prethinking module with more frameworks, which clicked better but still not sure abt them.
3. TTP: i watched few verbal videos from gmatclub yt, found the logic of few to be not so intuitive as a non-native english (self based out of india).
4. private tutor: i tried a demo class, found it alright but the process of teaching, sending my write up through whatsapp and only following og gmat material n no other thing. i think they can correct me personally where i am going wrong but lack of online reviews and website is also sketchy. all the students are shown 750 score.
cost wise: 1/2 are similar. 3/4 are very expensive.
timeline for prep: 2-3 months.
current level: 545 in some mock.

i would greately appretiate any feedback and resources from the viewers end if applicable.
in case if any tutor/person feels they can guide me or something i am happy to recieve the dm.

Hi sengirish, check out the GMAT Club math book: gmat-math-book-in-downloadable-pdf-format-130609.html

There are some questions in the book. But a lot more quant questions are available for free in the PS sub-forum: problem-solving-ps-140/
