Hi everyone, can someone help me with how to use the OG book with online questions bank and practice questions bundle. Struggling quite a lot with this
You can access the Online Question Bank by going to http://www.mba.com/my-account and using
your unique Access Code on the inside front cover of the Official Guide.

If you bought the 4-book bundle (Main OG + 3 sectional Review Guide), there will be an access code in each of the books. You’ll need to use all 4 access codes to activate different question banks.

I’ve been exploring options for self-paced GMAT online courses, and I’m a bit confused about which one to choose. I’ve always learned best with a concept followed by application method, where a typical lesson involves a one-hour video. The first 10-15 minutes cover the concept, followed by a series of questions that are solved and explained in-depth. The instructor teaches new concepts during the solution walkthroughs and shares strategies on how to tackle similar questions in the actual exam.

However, after going through the free trial of eGMAT, I noticed that their videos are usually only 5-10 minutes long and focus mostly on concepts without much emphasis on solving questions or applying those concepts to real problems.

Does anyone know of any GMAT prep courses or institutes that follow the concept + application method I’m used to? Looking for something with more hands-on problem-solving and detailed strategies for tackling exam questions.

Hi sefali229, official mocks from mba.com is a must. There are two free ones and four more paid ones. You can take each test at least twice, so that’s 12 official mocks you can get.

If that’s not enough for you, you can consider GMAT Club Tests. https://gmatclub.com/gmat-focus-tests/

Guys
I m reaching out here to ask which material or course worked for you guys and would love to know abt that.

I am not an avid reader and english language skills are also average, good for regular conversation.
In the past i had purchased a course, but the platform content delivery sucked for me to continue on it. Content was fairly average i presume, i must not deny that it gave me some clarity but still GMAT Verbal didnt click through that.

I am a working professional with timing 7 am to 7 pm.

For now i have few options
1. continue with that since i already used it (e-gmat)
2. gmatwhiz: i found their prethinking module with more frameworks, which clicked better but still not sure abt them.
3. TTP: i watched few verbal videos from gmatclub yt, found the logic of few to be not so intuitive as a non-native english (self based out of india).
4. private tutor: i tried a demo class, found it alright but the process of teaching, sending my write up through whatsapp and only following og gmat material n no other thing. i think they can correct me personally where i am going wrong but lack of online reviews and website is also sketchy. all the students are shown 750 score.
cost wise: 1/2 are similar. 3/4 are very expensive.
timeline for prep: 2-3 months.
current level: 545 in some mock.

i would greately appretiate any feedback and resources from the viewers end if applicable.
in case if any tutor/person feels they can guide me or something i am happy to recieve the dm.
For 4) I suppose you’re allowed to doubt the credibility of the claim that several of their students scored over a 750 (that does not sound right at all, I’d doubt the credibility of such a claim too) but then they were unfortunately right about just sticking to OG material. There really isn’t a resource that mimics the logic of GMAT Verbal questions as much as the OG ones. I solved about 40-50 of the OG questions before the exam and scored a V90.

As for non-OG material, I never used it for prep myself but I’ve came across a fair number of non-OG questions since I started tutoring for Verbal because a lot of people choose to solve them regardless. The biggest issue with them, in my opinion, besides just not following the logic of the exam is also that a lot of the 3rd party test prep company created questions for Verbal are straight up wrong. It’s way easier to create quant questions but with Verbal, it’s fairly tricky and any question outside the OG isn’t going to meet the same standards. That to me is you wasting your time trying to follow a logic that isn’t necessary for you to do well on the exam to begin with

The government’s efforts to stifle the import of foreign electronic items failed in 2000. If these efforts had been successful, the wholesale price of most electronic items would not have dropped substantially in 2000.

The argument in the passage depends on which of the following assumptions?

A) The foreign electronic goods supply fell considerably in 2000.
B) In 2000, the drop in the wholesale price of most foreign electronic items was not solely because of the drop in the demand of such items.
C) The domestic production of electronic items increased at a higher rate than did the import of such items.
D) In 2000, the wholesale price of a few foreign electronic items increased considerably.
E) The price to the average consumer for foreign electronic items did not drop considerably in 2000.

Textile engineers have created a fiber coating to produce fabric that prevents viruses from adhering to the surface. However, the coating is fairly expensive, and the fabric consumes more chemicals and water in its production than do traditional fabrics. Resultantly, for the majority of textile companies, the increased earnings from the new premium fabric would not offset the costs of the fiber coating and additional chemicals. Yet, as demand for garments that can repel viruses continues to rise, the use of coated fiber of this type is expected to spread extensively.

In the argument given, the two portions in boldface play which of the following roles?

A. The first presents a development that the argument predicts will lead to a certain result; the second recognizes a consideration that tends to weigh against that prediction.
B. The first provides a context for the argument; the second is the main conclusion of the argument.
C. The first introduces a development that the argument predicts will lead to a certain result; the second is a state of affairs that, as per the argument, contributes to bringing about that result.
D. The first provides evidence to support a prediction that the argument seeks to defend; the second is that prediction.
E. The first and the second each provide evidence that supports the main conclusion of the argument.

The oldest extant iteration of Gameco’s coding engine is forty years old. The fact that the code used in this engine frequently uses lower-level programming languages indicates that Gameco formulated its coding practices at least ten years before the aforesaid coding engine was produced. Keep in mind, Gameco adopted its coding engine from Crytek; presumably, alongside the coding engine, Gameco also adopted Crytek’s then-current practices regarding the programming languages employed. And although Crytek coding was originally an amalgamation of lower- and higher-level languages, forty years ago, Crytek was consistently using higher-level languages, and had been doing so for about ten years.

In the argument given, the two portions in boldface play which of the following roles?

(A) The first and the second each describe evidence used to challenge the position that the argument seeks to establish.
(B) The first is evidence on which an objection to the position that the argument seeks to establish is based; the second is that position.
(C) The first and the second each provide evidence supporting the position that the argument seeks to establish.
(D) The first is evidence on which an objection to the position that the argument seeks to establish is based; the second is a consideration the argument introduces to counter the force of that evidence.
(E) The first provides evidence supporting the position that the argument seeks to establish; the second is that position.

Many have suggested that increased qualification standards have been the primary cause of the present recruitment shortfall in the navy. However, the shortage has actually been caused by the facts that in recent years, seamen have not experienced any improvements in the work environment and that their salaries have not kept pace with salaries in the other branches of the armed forces.

Which of the following, if true, would most support the claims above?

A. Many seamen already in the navy would not have been recruited under the new qualification standards.
B. Many seamen have cited low pay and confined workspace as reasons for leaving the navy.
C. Some seamen have cited increased standards for qualification as a reason for the current recruitment shortfall.
D. Today more seamen are joining the navy with a higher educational level than in the past.
E. Many prospective seamen have cited the new qualification standards as a reason for not joining the navy.
