I’ve read that, but my point is that my ceiling considerably diverges from the official mocks speaking about full lenght. BB’s point is that the algorithm is not well calibrated for medium scores as it is for high scores so you see people with 85 above saying that everything is fine
That new adaptive sets are harsher inddeed.
Those who do not see elevated difficulty has either of the two scenarios.
1. A great quant.
2. They got stuck with the medium range of difficultly.
Let me tell you my two scenarios.
Sim1. Started cautiously. Could answer only 18 in time. Got 5 wrong. Got a Q83.
Sim3. Post reading this, tried to solve within time. Let some pass, reached upto 21. Got 8 wrong. Score Q79.
The difference is in sim1 I got first 7 correct and stuck to a sequence of hard problems from then on.
In sim3, intermittent errors as expected. I felt the questions as easier.
Point is both are 13/21.
And for a baseline, got a Q96 in their free full.sim at the first attempt.
Probably this gives you all an entire spectrum.
