Hi guys I have a ques
Even though I got about 60% correct in Verbal and DI, and atlast 80% correct in Quant, my overall score was still low. The Quant section also felt unusually easy. Does performance in earlier sections affect the difficulty level of later sections more than how I perform within that section itself?

Hi srichauhan199, performance in an early section does affect the difficulty level of the first few questions in the next section, but the effect is usually not significant. What’s more important is within the section, the number of questions you got wrong, the difficulty level of these questions, and the position of these incorrect answers.

It would probably be easier to decipher if you can post your time performance charts for the three sections.

GMAT Club has a bunch of free resources. For lessons, please check out playlists and courses on GMAT Club's Youtube channel here. For Quant, both Aditya Kumar and GMAT Ninja have comprehensive coverage on the topics. There are also DI playlist by GMAT NInja, as well as videos by other reputable tutors on the channel.

For practice questions, please use the PS sub-forum and DI sub-forums, for example Graphs & Tables here. Tens of thousands of PS and DS questions, and hundreds of DI questions that you can practice for free.

For how to practice questions on GMAT Club, please refer to this useful post.

Plenty of people use just free resources to achieve their target scores. So feel free to explore this site, and add paid resources later if/when the need arises.

No, performance in earlier sections doesn’t directly make later sections easier or harder. Each section in GMAT Focus is primarily adaptive within itself.
So if Quant felt unusually easy despite high accuracy, it usually means the algorithm may not have moved you into the highest difficulty range early enough often because of early mistakes, medium-difficulty misses, or timing patterns.
Also, in GMAT, raw accuracy alone can be misleading. Getting 80% of easier/medium questions correct can still lead to a lower score than getting fewer but harder questions correct. Difficulty level and consistency matter a lot along with accuracy.
