Hi everyone,
I need some advice regarding my GMAT preparation and ISB application timeline.
I have been preparing rigorously for the GMAT for the past 2 months using the GMAT Official Guide and GMAT Official Practice Bundle.
My practice performance so far:
- Quant: Around 80–85% accuracy in medium-level questions (untimed practice)
- Data Insights: Around 85% accuracy in easy questions and around 75% accuracy in medium questions(untimed)
- Verbal: Around 70–80% accuracy in easy and medium questions (untimed)
However, I recently took my first full-length official mock and scored only 485, which was much lower than expected compared to my practice accuracy.
My target score is 695+ GMAT Focus, as I want to apply to ISB. Since I come from an engineering background, I initially planned to apply in Round 1, but after this mock score I am considering moving to Round 2.
I have already booked my GMAT exam for July 11(prior), but I am now thinking about rescheduling it to November , to give myself enough time to improve, take more mocks, and reach my target score.
Does this seem like a good decision? Based on my current practice accuracy and mock score, is a 695+ target realistic by November? Also, would applying in ISB Round 2 instead of Round 1 significantly affect my chances?
Would appreciate guidance from people who have gone through a similar journey.
Thank you.
