Hi there. Does anyone have experience of how the offical practice and mock questions compare to that of the actual GMAT exam? I have been getting 80%+ on hard difficulty level whereas when I did E-GMAT questions my scores have been lower

Actual test will be tougher than official mocks but it won’t be as crazy as E gmat questions

This is my trajectory in the EG series so far. The free access was via GMAT club subscription and supposed to expire by the start of August.

First attempt: 20-June
Last attempt: 19-July

However Quant feels easy.

My question is, are these scores somewhat indicative of current baseline?

From May onwards. Before that I was just looking around. Took the GMAT club subscription in early May. That's when I started.

Resource is GMAT club sectionals and some quizzes.

VR all 10 done.
Quant: 10/20
DI: 5/10.

Then I moved to EG series.

GMAT club sectionals are in a different league.

VR is a bit different, but not markedly easy.

I am very poor in DI, hence not in a position to judge anything.

No, it isn’t easy ... it’s just not computer adaptive but all those questions are replicas of official questions so I call it a good practice for Qaunt

Yes, GC sectionals are different league 😅

For DI, GC tests are much better than EG🙂

You can try free Q (easy) and V (decent) sectional tests here... (all OG questions)

DI is the only thing where GMAT club felt aligned (not easy, aligned) to me.

EG DI is extremely ugly. Those tables and graphs has some mental roadblock for me.

Quant on Expert global is quite smooth vs Gmat club quant preps you for 705+

After a couple of mocks I stopped solving Expert global Verbal and went back to LSAT and OG material. EG DI is fine for practice.

Mix of both EG and Gmatclub is a fine strategy.

I would just add that taking a test takes a long time and then you have to review the results and review the questions and sometimes because of a few careless mistakes or another reason the whole test is kind of down the drain. My suggestion is to take quizzes or basically question practice if you need to drill a specific topic and move onto the tests when you’re just practicing timing and polishing in the final stages and for that I don’t think you need that many tests... but that’s me 😇

Posting this just in case someone decides that instead of learning proper strategies for questions and how questions work they just start taking tests endlessly.

I mean we do sell GMAT Club tests so if anything I would be motivated to try to say take more tests take more tests so hopefully my comment encouraging people to balance their prep carry some weight 😂

Test without learning is an endless loop.

But if one reviews the errors, I mean the real ones that gave friction and also from the traps, last step mistakes, that helps.

Ideally, I was not ready to take tests, but the tight timeframe of EG forced me.

Now I have an idea of what a three section test demands.

You can check more playlists on DI questions here... Once you have watched videos then practice DS again and still if you are unable to solve 605 level with accuracy then get in touch again. 🙂👍
