I’ve been practicing assumption questions for a while and have solved around 150 questions specifically on assumptions.
I’ve identified my main issue: I can usually narrow it down to two options, but I end up choosing the wrong one. The correct option is usually the other one.
I’ve realized that I struggle mainly with necessary vs. sufficient assumptions. Even though I understand the negation test, When I negate the options, the sufficient assumption often seems like it creates a gap or functions like an assumption, which makes it difficult for me to distinguish it from the necessary assumption.
Now that I know what my problem is, I’m not sure how to change my thought process to fix it.
For those who struggled with this, what thought process or framework helped you consistently identify the necessary assumption?
