Hi Community, I am an IT professional with 2+yrs of working experience and am planning to give my GMAT in the month of September. I have gone through the Princeton Review hardcover book and am currently going through the GMAT OG for revision and more practice. My goal it to get a score between 720-740. I need your suggestions on whether the above mentioned two study materials are enough? If not, then what else should I solve as well? Also, wanted to know the efficacy of strategies mentioned in Princeton Review?
Hi and welcome!
Princeton is probably the weaker of the three available books. However, definitely better than they were five years ago, when most of the strategies and Contant was based on tricks and shortcuts which would not that helpful.
I have not reviewed the material in detail however because we haven’t really had a need to win Manhattan has been doing a really good job (no I’m not as thrilled with some of the latest changes they’ve made in the last addition and moving some of the hotter chapters online out of the books).
Having said that, I think you can use the Princeton book if you want to and if you feel it’s helping you improve. The go to resources usually Manhattan or sometimes Kaplan workbooks because they are shorter and easier to digest. But definitely not deeper. Anyway, I will try with you already half and see if it’s helping you improve matching your expectations. If yes, then keep going but if not, get Manhattan or potentially Kaplan as a second choice. Those are the only books currently available 😬
I guess you have said that you’ve gone through the Princeton Review hard cover book… I have never seen a hard cover from Princeton. Do you have a link?
You also mentioned you have already gone through it. Have you achieve your goals? Where are you in terms of your score?
