Hello, I am new here and new to GMAT prep as well so a few questions. 1) What would you suggest that I should pick first to start preparing for the exam? 2) Should I give a mock test first or should I do my initial prep and then start giving mocks? 3) Also, how many mocks should I plan to give during the duration of my prep? Is there any resource apart from GMAT club when I should will get free mock exams? 4) Should I take online coaching right away? If yes, which ones will you suggest? Some of these might be very basic questions but there I am drowning in too much information and I believe it would be better to ask those who have gone through this journey themselves
Please help me out. Thanks.
Don’t worry, these basic questions bug almost everyone.
1. Sequence doesn’t matters. You can pick anything as per your comfort level. Still, My experience says Quant, cos it gets completed early, especially if you have a Maths background. Once concepts of Quant are completed, they demand less energy than does Verbal.
2. You can give it a shot before starting of your prep, but don’t expect a miracle or something. Score can be less but thats not a reflection of your potential.
3. I gave one mock before starting of the prep, one after completion of all sections. Then, you just have to analyse the results of your mock, strengthen the weak areas, give another mock, repeat as many times as possible, preferably with Official GMATprep mocks which can be purchased separately from Gmatprep, apart from the official mock 1&2 which you get complementary.
4. Online coaching is better, it gives you proper content to learn, questions to practise, & experts to get your doubts cleared. I would advise to take it without loitering around much. I took
egmat, which was decent. Other are also there, which I have not tried.
Thought to help, cos you are exactly in the position I was sometime back, so could relate!
