Hi Everyone,
I am planning to apply for 2019 intake. Just wanted to clear some doubts. Can I get an admit in Top 30 B-schools, if not working at a managerial level?
Background:-
Female,23, currently working in a Multinational Company in Finance and Accounts Department.
Work ex - 18 months
Graduation- Bcom(H)
Country- India
I participated in many extra curricular activities (Including state, District and Zonal Level) in School and college. Topped the University in my Graduation. Started doing some CSR activities in Office. I am currently working at the lowest Hierarchy in my company. Although promotions are coming soon (Fingers crossed).
Coming to GMAT-
I have my Gmat on 30th April, my current mock score is 640-680 (Gmat prep). If I score above 650, will I be able to get an admit from a good school. I was always bad in competitive exams and Gmat is no different. It took me a year to reach this score. Please provide honest opinion, how much do I need to score based on my profile to be on a safer side.

Thank you for your post and for sharing your profile. If you are targetting top 30 MBA programs, 650 is the minimum you should score. Most top 30 MBA programs average between 650 and 690, and the GMAT range does not go below 640.
As to your subject line question, you do not require a management role to show leadership qualities. This is where we work best in looking at your profile from all angles so we can best tell your story.

By now you probably do have a GMAT score
With a 650, you could look between the top 30 and top 50. You don't necessarily need a formal managerial position to get into business school. Leadership potential could be showcased through different roles you have played and the sense of ownership you have displayed and a lot will depend on how the same is portrayed through your essays.We would like to take this opportunity to offer you a free profile evaluation.
