I did the same this morning and I got the following reply from them:

Thank you for applying to the NYU Stern School of Business. You will receive an e-mail from Stern MBA Admissions within the next 7-10 business days after the deadline confirming the receipt of your application and providing you with a password to our secure. This site will allow you to monitor the status of your application throughout the admissions process. This site is available 24 hours a day and reflects the current status of your application. You will be notified via e-mail when your status has been updated. The site is continuously updated, but it may take up to ten business days for information to be posted once we receive it, including your supplemental materials. Thank you for your patience as well as your interest in the program.

By the way I went to the Westchester Information session today-seemes good, though I haven't been to the NYC info session.

Also, I got a waiver to the application fee to apply for the program.

satija,
I applied on 07/12 and received the notification email on 09/13. Doesn't hurt to ask Ad-Com if you have not yet received the notification.

epb1047,
Could you please let us know your score break-up including your AWA? I saw you are a re-applicant from fall this year. What did you do to strengthen your app. this time? Thanks![/quote]

Hi Guys,
I am posting to this forum for the first time, though have been reading your valuable postings for quite sometime now.
I have applied for the Spring 2008 Langone session as well and received the intimation regarding the receipt of my application today morning.
They have mentioned that final results would be coming on or before 1st Dec, but am really curious to know 2 things
a. What is the actual time frame they take to intimate their decision (I hope its well before 1st Dec)
2. Have they already intimated their decision to some regarding acceptance.

It would be great if you dont mind to share your profiles with us in this forum.

As for me my figures are
1. GMAT 690 (Q 48, V 37)
2. Indian IT proffessional working full time for an I-Bank
3. 4 yrs of work exp
4. Good extra curriculars.

Good luck shall_win!!
Looking at the past stats, I think they would start sending the acceptance notifications out from next Tue / Wed.

Thanks HM !
Wish you all the same as well.

BTW a question to all you out there. If you are asked 4 to 5 important criteria for admission to NYU Stern Langone, to be ranked according to their respective importances, what would they be ?

Not yet I guess. It would take at least a couple of weeks as not every body has received the acknowledgement as yet

Hello everybody.

I'm sure everybody here is just waiting very anxiously to hear the results of the application and mostly would be expecting a "Yes", unlike people with a lesser GMAT score including me.

I'm anyway appearing again by end of October as I already mentioned in Essay 4.

Guys, how would you rate Fordham Business School Part Time MBA.I know one can't compare this with NYU but what do you think the chances for a very good RoI from Fordham?Any inputs from anybody would be highly appreciated-if anybody among you knows anybody who has done Part time MBA from there.

Hey all,

I am sure everyone is anxiously waiting for your decisions. I am a little late to join in... They are still accepting apps and I am going to apply before the end of this week.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Did u guyz strictly follow the 250 word limit? I have serious issues on this front. Both my essays are bordering on 500 words.

2. Did any one try anything fancy with essay 3? I have an idea but I dont know whether I should play safe. I am a little confused. What do you think about trying something very different?

Profile:
GMAT - 730 (q51 v38)
2 years experience, IT.
Undergrad GPA - 86%; Grad GPA - 3.2 from a competitive school.
Decent extra curricular activities.
Company sponsorship - 100%

ioiio - I would suggest that you try to remain within 250 - 275 words. I read somewhere that 10% is the acceptable deviation on essay word limits. Also since you are applying after deadlines (sep 15) I would suggest to stick to the word limits and not give the ad comm a possible reason to ding you.

satija - Fordham is a good school to complete your partime MBA. But, the value that an MBA from a top school would carry more weight than one at fordham. My definition of top school is one which consistently ranks in top 20 in full time and top 10 in part time.

Thanks man. I took some time to downsize my "Fit with Stern" essay. I guess I'd just have to be more specific and less dramatic in my essays.

Essay 3 is a different beast altogether though.
