A: We are given total students = 120, which will be X.

We are given the following data in the problem:

X = 120
Doesn't like beans = (2/3)x = 80
Doesn't like beans AND sprouts = (3/5)80 = 48

If 48 students do not like beans and sprouts, that means 32 students that do not like beans DO like sprouts. SUFFICIENT.

B: We are given 40 students like beans.

If 2/3 of students do not like beans, 1/3 do like beans. This means 1/3 of the total students = 40. From here we can repeat the steps done for statement A and determine the question is SUFFICIENT.

Therefore the answer is D.

From the Stem : Dislike Lima = ( 2/3 )* total of students

Dislike ( Brussels and Lima) = (3/5)*( people who dislike Lima)

Then Dislike ( Brussels and Lima) = (3/5)*( ( 2/3 )* total of students)

Given

1) the total number of students are 120

2) students who dislike Lima beans are 40

So we can achieve the answer with both 1 and 2. So D
