Hello,

Unfortunately, I can only on most forums users comparing OG 2020 and OG 2021 and not OG 2019 vs 2021.

I had a OG 2019 as a gift from a friend, but should I really invest on the OG2021 version? Will get a good number of new questions that do not appear on the 2019 version?

Thank you!

hughng92

You don't need to buy OG 2021 because there are only a few differences between OG 2019 and OG 2021 and those differences (questions) can be found on GMAT CLUB itself using sorting feature.

You can find Video solution of all OG 2019 and 2021 quant questions on my youtube channel. (link given here)

Two MUST join YouTube channels for GMAT aspirant GMATinsight and GMATclub :)

It's totally OK to use a book from 2019. Also, do you plan to use any other resources? Do you need any advice regarding your study plan?

Hi hughng92,

The Official Guide books are great sources for 'retired' Official questions, so any recent version of the main OG (even going as far back as the OG13) would be fine to work with. Since you already have the GMAT2019, then purchasing the GMAT2021 is not necessary. That having been said, those books are not designed to teach you Tactics, patterns or the little 'secrets' behind the GMAT - for those, you'll need Course-oriented materials.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far besides the GMAT2019?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
