I'd hate to disturb you Paul but I was wondering if you can evaluate my profile 
I just completed my GMAT 2 days ago so I'm certainly hyped up right now and ready to hit the ground running with my applications.
Here's me:
Post-MBA goal:

In the short-run, to establish a career in the marketing/business/operations aspect of the IT industry. In the long-run, an avid amateur musician who wishes to pursue entrepreneurship opportunities that would enable the fusion of interests in technology, music and business. Also open to other possibilities that may suit my profile/background!

Race: Chinese
Age: 27 (at matriculation)
Birth Location: Hong Kong
Current Location: Toronto (Resided here since age 10)
Scores/Education

GMAT: 700 (Q47, V38), AWA 6.0
Undergrad: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering Specialist @ University of Toronto
Undergrad GPA: 2.74 overall, 3.17 final year
Work Experience:

- 16 month full-time internship as Software Support Developer: interacting with end-users and resolving issues, developing software, driving development and release of mid-size software deliverables in cross-functional teams
- 1 year experience as Software Developer: developing software for financial industry
- 2 years of experience as software Team Lead: have a varied role in ensuring overall health and success of a software project, including: coordinating duties of offshore/onshore developers, acting as liason with external vendor collaborators, representing the company in visiting customers during requirements gathering sessions, organizing/driving team design forums, maintaining team conformance to proper software architect, etc.
Community/Extracurricular:

- co-founded music talent/event promotion company and website for two years in 2002-2004 to promote music and multiculturalism
- organized and performed in musical performances for several non-profit events/organizations
- amateur music producer/vocalist producing urban music regularly and also received airplay on local radio
Target B-schools:

I'm going to leave this section blank to see what ideas you may have for me. Basically targeting top-25 schools in Canada and US with specialization/reputation in marketing, brand mgmt, technology, or general mgmt.

Your unusual goals and distinctive/strong extracurriculars--in other words, basically the music theme--are a good asset for you, even if the rest of your profile is not unbelievably breath-taking (no offense). Given your goals and profile I recommend considering the following schools:
Kellogg (possibly long-shot but you should apply)
Duke
Michigan
UCLA
Haas (longish shot)
HEC Montreal
U. Washington (Seattle)
Thunderbird

Thanks for the advice Paul! I'll definitely give the music theme presence in my apps. No offense taken about profile being not breath-taking - I'd say the same thing if I were evaluating my own profile
Thanks for the school suggestions, they make alot of sense and I'll be looking into them further. For Haas/Kellogg, if they're longish shots, do you have any advice on how I can beef up my application?
