You will have a tough time getting EITHER job if you're focused on BOTH banking and consulting at the same time.
You need to choose. The recruiting process at b-schools doesn't really give you the opportunity to choose to pursue both (i.e. a lot of the events are held simultaneously, the interviews are held at the same time, etc.). Moreover, students tend to self-select into either career path because the culture is very different and attracts a different kind of personality and orientation.
Now, if you're going to choose just one, then in theory your age shouldn't matter if you don't make it an issue. It will matter more in banking since the hours are longer, but it's not unheard of for a married guy starting off as an associate at a bank. Age is less of an issue in consulting.
So if you want a career, choose ONE of these to pursue, and not both. If you want prestige, buy yourself a Benz.
