Let age of J = x in 2008 and age of B = y
We know -> x = 4y (Statement 1)
3 cases are possible:
1st:
J's birthday is before 1st July
-- here age of J on 31st July 2025 = x + 17
And we are given that x+17 = 2(y+17)
SOlving this with Statement 1 we don't get an integer value of x. SO this cannot be possible.
2nd:
J's birthday is between 1st July and 31st July
-- here age of J on 31st July 2025 = x + 18
And we are given that x+18 = 2(y+17)
Solving this with statement 1, we get: y = 8
So age of J in 2008 = 4y = 32 --> So year of birth for J --> 2008 - 32 = 1976
ONly 1 option with year as 1996 and birth date between 1st July and 31st July
Option B is correct
3rd:
J's birthday is after 31st July
here age of J on 31st July 2025 = x + 17
