I think in your case the online MBA makes total sense. I can’t see how someone who has gone through a ton of medical school and has substantial financial obligations potentially, would be able to take a year or two only to go back into the medical field. Another option could be a executive MBA and I’m not sure what options exist for healthcare executive MBA.

Do you have a mentor or somebody who you could confide to? Someone you can talk about your career progression and ask them? We rarely see medical professionals looking for a second-degree here. Thus I’m not sure I have much to add except to agree with you putting sights on John Hopkins. Everything you said so far seems to add up.

Wow...did not expect all the Carey votes. I know I have a unique situation as I am not one who is trying to use this for consulting or anything like that. Thanks for the feedback so far.

Congrats on the admits! Kelley's online MBA program is outstanding, usually ranked #1 or #2. I am a full time student here at Kelley, so I am not as familiar with the online curriculum, but I do know that it receives a lot of national attention and is consistently highly ranked.

I’m a little late to this thread - but I’m a Hopkins Carey MBA grad (2020) with a Healthcare Management concentration. I would highly recommend the program, especially for someone in the healthcare field. It’s an extremely well-respected institution and a well-run hybrid MBA program. They also integrate the curriculum with the Public Health and Medical school, which I enjoyed from a cross-disciplinary perspective.

You will be surrounded by many doctors, surgeons, and scientists in the Hopkins MBA program, but there are also plenty of finance and marketing professionals as well. For me, the healthcare specific classes proved useful and relevant.

Best of luck!
