i made the whiteboard at home with white sheet sandwiched between two lamination sheets. For marker, i bought 2 sketch pen(1mm)
Total cost 10 ( 2 lamination sheets)+ 10*2 pen= 30 INR

I read somewhere explicitly written that laminated sheets are not allowed. Please check the requirements once

I used Magnetic dry erase markers of U Brands, lots of color options and all work great. The red leave a slight tinge on the white board after dry wiping it, but nothing that would make me not buy them again. The caps have magnets on them so you can keep the markers on your board, place the caps in board while using the marker ( so convenient to not lose them!). See my photo for color accuracy - would definitely recommend!!!

I have a whiteboard of a little big size than the quoted size, is it fine or I need to buy a new one?

Hi, I have a similar whiteboard with a chalkboard side. I don’t intend to use that side. The rule say no chalkboard, is one side chalkboard a problem?

Chalkboard is not a problem, just keep it clean and don't forget to flash both sides when u r going for a break.

Did you, by any chance, use a similar thing yourself? I am hoping to find some concrete evidence to put my mind at ease.

the back side of my whiteboard had a very similar texture to a slateboard.but it was not a chalkboard. i just read requirements on GMAC website, they say chalkboards are not allowed.

https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-online/p ... rd-options

but you only have an optional chalkboard. best way to confirm is to call GMAC. by the way I remember reading debriefs about folks who have used optional chalkboard whiteboards.

Thanks.
For anyone else reading, I found another person on this forum who had given GMAC a call and GMAC said that it is okay if one side is non-whiteboard/coloured.
PS: GMATclub is amazing.

Don't think we still have fine tip markers available in Amazon.in. The one's shared earlier are currently out of stock or undeliverable.

Any new recent finds?

yeah, I too had real difficulty in finding one. I had to find a distributor and buy in bulk to ensure timely delivery. The expo ones mentioned earlier are wayy too costly and huge (1+ month) delivery time.
I am selling the extra ones I bought; if anyone is in the same boat and interested in buying, DM me.

Hi all,

I had my GMAT online exam last week and like everybody here I was struggling to get the perfect whiteboard and markers. The expo markers mentioned in this thread were definitely the last option for me but I decided to try out couple of other options first to see if those work since the expo ones would take around 15 days to ship.

I ordered the whiteboard by Lifekrafts from amazon which had two complementary markers. To my surprise, these markers were fine tip. I decided to order a pack of 16 of these markers separately as well for around 400Rs and they did not disappoint.

Here are the respective names of the products-
(Due to some restriction I wasn't able to post the links but you can just search for these on amazon.in)
Whiteboard - Lifekrafts Dry Erase White Board|Size:(11x14) inches, Pack of 1, Includes 2 Pens and 1 Eraser|

Markers - LifeKrafts Dry Erase Marker Pens | Pack of 16 Includes Black, Blue, Red, Green |

Couple of notes-
  • This dimensions of this whiteboard(11x14inches) are comparatively smaller than the dimensions specified by GMAC. I went for it since I wanted a premium quality whiteboard as they are much easier to erase. I bought a local whiteboard prior to this and that was pretty disappointing.
  • Also, because of its smaller size, the whiteboard was pretty convenient to place on the table.
  • During my practice, each marker lasted close to a week (using 2-3 hours a day) so you can plan according to that.

Dear all,

I could see many great and amazing suggestions here. I would like to share my experience with the physical whiteboard and fine tip marker, which I ordered from amazon india (might come in handy for people who are still looking to buy these).

I couldn't post the link, however, just search on amazon india for: ANSIO Whiteboard | Double-Sided Magnetic Drywipe Dry Erase | Lightweight Aluminum Frame | 42 x 30 cm. I must say this white board is of premium quality; further, this is a two sided magnetic white board, which is a bonus of obvious reasons. Dimensions-wise, it's well within the permitted dimension.

For fine-tip marker just do an amazon india search for: MUNGYO Power Liner White Board Marker FINE Point. I must say I was impressed by the quality of these markers, and they're all fine tip markers!! Moreover, every marker contains an in-built eraser and a magnetic cap, making our job easier. The attached eraser will actually replace any separate eraser, which one might have to buy for the exam. Moreover, ink of these markers can be re-filled!

Ps- Avoid ordering from theboardsbazaar dot com. I ordered from this site in the first week of June 2021, when the price was around ₹1400 for a pack of 12 Expo markers. Now they've doubled the prices, but the irony is that they still haven't delivered my products. :D So, eventually I had to cancel that order. They'll keep stalling you guys by giving misleading reasons and excuses. Please avoid them!!
