I will try to keep this brief; your opinions would be much appreciated!
My profile:
White male, married, 30 years old
Ivy League degree in Biology
CFA and FRM designations
7 years varied experience in asset management, including a fairly quantitative role currently
Limited volunteer experiences through employer sponsored programs
Should have no problem getting strong rec letters
The catch: I took the GMAT 3 years ago, did some basic prep, and got a very lopsided 630. 95th percentile verbal, 38th quant, 5 on the written. I ran out of time on quant and my score suffered. Since then I have been focused on career, designations, and got married, so there was very little time to go for a second attempt. Based on my work experiences, undergrad degree, and other designations, I feel that I clearly show the ability to do top tier MBA coursework. I hope to apply this year for fall of 2013, but am worried about attempting the GMAT again without a solid amount of time and preparation. Is it worth retaking the GMAT (new section added now), or should I just apply?
