I just got mine (in as well!), a couple hours later, so they are not all sent out simultaneously.

Guys, I'm in too!

What did they write to you in the admission email? Did they write "Your interviewer was very impressed" to everyone or just to me?

I'm sure they wrote that to everyone. Among other things, the author would have put in the correct pronoun instead of 'they' in "...your interviewer was very impressed when they spoke to you..."

My interview was not the most impressive thing about my app, so I see that as further confirmation. But who cares??? You got in, so your interview did not go that badly. Congratulations and hope to see you at SBS in the fall!

Yes, same admission message, probably it's a standard and even automated one. Can't wait to receive the official letter!

Hi, I think I read in another blog that we have 1 month form the date of the acceptance offer; not clear if is the date of the email or the official letter.

Guys... i too got an admit mail yesterday. I am bit confused on making a final decision (on which school to choose). Does anyone know about the 2009 said placement stats?

Hi, in the FT MBA Global '10 ranking Oxford has an "% employed @ 3months" of 75% (only 63% respondents of the entire '08 class) and it's placed 84th out of a top 100 MBAs. Also the alumni placement effectiveness rank it's only 83th. I heard rumours that for the '09 class the figures aren't better, but ...

I think it depends on what to expect from the school: if it is expected that X recruiter to offer the dream job after a short interview at the school, probably there will be a major disappointment. Mr. Derek Walker (Director of Careers) stated clearly at an Open Day event that his team task is to provide the best career skills training and industry expertise, but the candidate has to make own efforts of finding a job. (He compared this exercise with a marathon tournament: he will be the trainer, will tell what, when, how to train but in the end it's EACH candidate who will compete in the marathon and is responsible for the result). Also, I don't think that in the actual job market Oxford is a good place for "triple jumpers", as Oxford does not have a clear summer internship program.

I think that Oxford it's good to build on your previous sector or regional experience and I hope they provide (at least) with a decent career skills training and networking opportunities to find a suitable job.

Buffdaddy, Greenoak, would you please share your experience so far with the career service team?

Saw the email during transit and that just made the rest of the journey so much better!
Also happy to see so many club-member admits here! Congrats all, and see you in campus in August... :)

Hi! I'm in too. And you're quite right about the recruitment scenario at Oxford. I had my interview with Mr. Derek Walker and he said pretty much the same thing even during our conversation.
