Hello!

I will be graduating from university when I will 24/25 years old.

It's going to be at the University of Sydney, my bachelor's degree is commerce.

My idea is to do an MFE in Oxford.
I know the average age of the class is 22 y/o

Do you think that age is an impediment?

Your age is not likely to be a barrier to your admission into the MFE program at Oxford, as we have seen in the cases above. A few years of additional work experience can be an advantage. Oxford looks for a strong academic background, which your Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney will provide. Relevant work experience, extracurricular activities, and a compelling application essay are also important factors.Your application should be used to demonstrate your unique background and goals. In fact, many of the best MFE programs are eager to admit some students with a little work experience, because they can bring new dimensions to class discussions and team projects. In order to secure a place in Oxford’s MFE program, it is essential that you make sure you do well in your Bachelor of Commerce studies, get internships or work experience that are relevant and finally create an engaging application package that demonstrates how well you fit the program. As long as one meets academic and professional standards, age may not be a significant factor in its own right.
