I had my interview with a 2nd year student through Skype, a couple of days back. It was a totally conversational interview. The interviewer was friendly, and it almost felt like that it wasnt an evaluative interview. More like, they are really trying to understand you as a candidate.
The interview lasted about 40 mins and the questions were pretty much the same what everyone has already mentioned. Nothing surprising really. I could have done better in some questions I guess, but I felt I did better than my Tepper interview.

My suggestion to anyone attending an interview in the coming weeks would be to be as calm as you can for the interview and view it as a genuine discussion rather an evaluative interview. I hope that helps! Please feel free to reach out to me in case you guys need help or have any clarifications. This forum has been very useful for me to prepare and I would love to give that back :)

Oh, and one more thing. The interviewer at the end clearly mentioned that there will be no further contact from Admissions Office until the decisions date as they have their hands full with lots of interviews and application reviews. And she told me this proactively, I didn't actually raise a question on those lines. So, more invites are going to come out. Hold on guys!

Is McCombs your first choice? If you got the admit from McCombs, will you surely let the other admit go? If it is, I would say, it wouldnt hurt to be honest with them. Either call them or write a mail explaining your situation and how you would really love to attend there, etc. What's the worse that could happen? They would probably say, " Sorry, we cant release the decision early". Atleast you would have tried. Thats what I would have done :)


I am not sure how it would pan out actually. If McCombs is your first choice, they could raise the point that in case you don't get in now you can apply next year as well. But if you have a really good explanation for why you have to start MBA this year itself, then maybe it's understandable.

C J Duncan. But my interview didn't feel that conversational; it was very formal kinda.

I felt the same way. I think the school uses the interview to look more at the intangibles and to kind of see whether you give off the kind of vibe that will fit in the McCombs community.

Let's face it, they've looked at our grades, they know how smart we are, and most of the applicants are a very high caliber. The interview is there to find out more about who you are as a person, something grades can't convey.

It's hard to tell with absolute certainty, but if you go to youtube analytics, you can filter by country, then state (texas), then "traffic sources" and look for Uknown--direct. This will weed out views from random youtubers. :)
I just checked now and see that I had two views from UT yesterday just before getting the invite. So I had 3 views clearly from McCombs. 2 yesterday and 1 on Feb 4.


Uh-oh.. I haven't had any views from McCombs! :(

I got an email from them asking me to upload my transcripts in a better format. This implies that they are still reviewing R2 apps!! Hope to get an invite from them next week

I too think its the default status.

I have already interviewed but my status has been the same as above ever since I submitted the app.

Thanks, I know that's the decision date, but I'm sure they do start sending admits earlier. My friend read on some other forum about an Admit!
