I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I'm not getting it. Seems like lots of people applying to m7 schools also apply to Yale as their safety so their applicant pool is just very high quality. Also seems like Yale puts more weight on test scores than a lot of other schools as a way to inflate their rankings. Congrats on whoever gets it but I'm less optimistic about this one than my other schools.

Are you basing this off of the stats on this site or something else? If it's based off of the applicants here you should note that people on this site tend to have higher scores and stats than the overall applicant pool. Also, Yale has only recently become a popular program. Since it used to be a non-profit management school is tends to attract people of related career goals so I would argue that Tuck is the M7 backup on the east coast and Haas is the M7 backup on the west coast. OR maybe a lot of people apply because of the Yale name without realizing the program history which is driving up the stats? I can agree with them being gmat sensitive though.

In short...don't get discouraged! I think for Yale, fit it most important. Second wave of invites hasn't even come out yet. You never know what can happen!

Was this a payback time? I was away for 30 min and so many notifications. Checked my mailbox before checking the forum- and my heart sank.

You guys are mean. I was getting dinner and came back with like 7 notifications!!!

Also, can anyone please do me a favour and figure out how many waves were there last year? If you go to last year's forums you will see my journey from being a hopeful optimist to a cynical hag, so you should understand if I don't want to make that trip again :(

I counted up 5 rounds of interview invites before the mid-round dings. Some reported not getting a ding or invite and I don't think I clicked far enough to see what eventually happened to them.

Hmm they were probably waitlisted. Wow 5 waves. That’s something. If we assume that the volume is the same each wave (yeah stupid assumption I know), that would mean about 40-50 invites on GMATClub for round 1. Interesting!

Thanks @FuturePM91 for checking that out.

So it sounds like they send roughly one wave a week for five weeks and then they reject or waitlist people around Nov. 1?

I'm a reapplicant and was waitlisted last year. I got my interview invite after the wave of mid-cycle rejection went out. My suggestion is not to speculate anything and just continue with your amazing lives. No point in fretting over things that are not in your control. Good things are just around the corner.

Cheers!!
