Here is my profile
I received a Bachelor of Engineering degree with a 3.8 GPA from a Canadian top 10 university.
After college I became employed in a large US tech company at the peak of the dot com bubble. Worked 80 hrs a week to survive layoffs. Promoted twice in 4 years, expecting another one soon. Currently I work as a technical lead for the product that we are developing and lead 5 overseas engineers that come to the US periodically. I don't do their evaluations, but I give a lot of input on their performance to the actual manager. Also, I have always worked in teams of about 10-20 people.

Why MBA
Instead of product development, I want to get involved with product management. Developing business case for new products, for removing old products, talking to customers in different countries to see what their needs are.
I'm also very interested in Finance, but I don't know many top schools accept engineers into Finance MBA for a career change.
Why now
- After 5 years of development, I want to see the other side of business, because I think I can contribute with business as well as engineering knowledge.
Extracurricular
- mentored kids in science competition to get them interested in science
- member of volleyball team
- established a scholarship fund at my college for students who perform community service
I know my extracurricular activities are lacking but I do work a lot of overtime and have kids, does that help?
My schools of choice are (in order of preference)
Chicago
Kellogg
Michigan
NYU
UCLA
USC
I definitely want to go to a part time program (I can telecommute to my job for the duration of the MBA, so location of the school isn't an issue)
Do I have a chance with these schools?
Thanks in advance!
