I am Arvind Verma from India and My profile is nothing like any typical Indian aspirant hence I need your opinion :-
I did my M.Sc in biochemistry and always had a dream to earn Doctoral degree in my domain, but just when I completed my masters program, I come to know that my father was suffering from cardiac problem and his days in this world were numbered, being the only male member in my family I had to join him in a city located in small tribal state of India, after three years of harrowing time, my father passed away…(I was not able to be in permanent employment for those three year because I needed to look after my father).
After his demise I had to stay in that small city as my mother and sister needed me, unable to find any proper employment in my domain I joined the state government as a office assistant, where I am currently working since 6 years, it is mainly administrative job where I need to look after the HR activity related to employees, working with chaotic and corrupt govt. system brings really hard challenges with it like looking for the pension case of illiterate widow who is unable to pay the bribe to local clerk etc.
I have actively participated in various employee welfare activities through unions, still as I earned my education in science and this lack of any administrative virtues inspired me to earn a degree in general management. I have a desire to come back in my current organization after earring my MBA so that I can make some difference. I request you to let me know if my profile is relevant for a good general management MBA in US.
