I feel that I am not yet ready to apply for an MBA. I would like to get a sense though of where i stand, when i can realistically start applying and what I can do until then to improve my chances. I imagine that extracurricular activities are a must. I am also thinking of getting a job outside of the US to improve my resume. Let me know if it is a better idea to remain / keep growing in my current organization vs. getting international exposure.
Profile information:
1) Brief description of your full-time work experience:
For the last year and a half after graduating from college i have been a Business Analyst with Capital One. So far i received one promotion.
2) Your GMAT:
770 (Q51/V44)
3) College info:
Cornell University ~3.7 GPA
Double Major Mathematics / Economics
4) Significant college and post-college extra-curricular activities or community service, especially leadership experience:
None so far
5) Important certifications like CFA, CPA, FSA, or CA:
None so far
5) Your target programs
I would like to aim at the top programs: Harvard , Wharton, Stanford. However that may not be realistic. When i start applying I will definitely try for Chicago.

Your academics are stellar. Community service would help you as would international exposure. I wouldn't say that you must change jobs to get that exposure without knowing more about what youare leaving or going to. You have to weigh it up. You do need to acquire some leadership experience either on or off the job to be truly competitive at these schools. And you need to be able to show impact.
