Russian male - 27, applying for 2008
650 (Q50, V28) -> planning to retake this fall, need at least 36 Verbal.
GPA 5/5. Double major BA/Political science. (Russian U)
1.5 years part-time exp during college with one of major Russian banks. VP "Students in Politics" club, Volleyball team captain, many other activities.
Immigrated to the US
2 years exp. in Retail Banking -> 2 promotions -> 1 years management exp.
Moved back to Russia since I received an excellent offer from one of Russian banks (new on the market). Created and managed retail marketing department. 3 years extensive management exp. Very impressive quantitative (sales) and qualitative (brand recognition) results. Initiated regional expanding. On of the first players on the market to start value added campaigns. Currently working on implementing CRM.
Community exp. Founder of Russian club in Pittsburgh, provided various assistance to new immigrants, career workshops, info sessions, educational assistance.
Why an MBA and why now?
Lack of business fundamentials, looking for new educational exp with international aspect. MBA degree coupled with my international experience will help me to advance in my career. Immediate goal is to join one the major western retail banks in Russia.
1st Schools - Darden, Fuqua, Keenan-Flagler, Kelley, Tepper
2nd Schools - McDonough, Owen, Fisher, Katz
I must start in 2008. Could you please tell me what is my safe school might be?

Yes, if you could pull your GMAT up another 20-30 points, you'll be in good shape to get admitted to those schools. It's a good lineup. Try to keep it limited to no more than 5 schools.
