Hi,

I am an Indian male, age 23 years,

GMAT 650, V 36, Q 44, AWA 6.0
GMAT 650, V 32, Q 47, AWA 4.5

TOEFL 107

Education:
Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering)
Percentage : 61 %
GPA : 3.7

Professional Experience:
Working as a freelance Software Consultant since June 2009


I am interested in doing MBA in Finance due to my interest in Finance. How do i explain this in the goals essay.

My experience is much less as compared to other applications. How can I explain that this is the right time for me to do MBA.


Please evaluate my profile and suggest some good colleges that I can apply to which fit my profile.

I suggest you watch two on-demand webinars that we have on the site. They address your two questions more thoroughly than I can here:

* The Art of a Gripping MBA Goals Essay
* MBA: Catalyst for Career Change

In terms of schools you should consider, look into Rochester Simon, Zicklin, and Georgetown.

Do you think that I am competitive enough for Georgetown? I was thinking about Emory, Notredame & Texas A & M Uni.

I don't think that you are currently competitive at Georgetown, Emoryor Notre Dame. Maybe Texas A&M. You may also want to consider Rochester Simon.

Hi Linda,

I am working on my applications for Rochester (Simon) and Texas A & M Uni. (Mays).
The avg. GMAT Score of Rochester (Simon) is a little higher than my score (650). I hope that won't be an issue.

Should I apply to Georgia Tech, Uni. of California (Irvine / Davis) , Uni. of Maryland, Babson, Penn State, Wisconsin or Tulane.

I know that is a very long list, but please help me select some colleges that fit my profile.

Regarding your goals essay and career change, please see:

* The Art of a Gripping MBA Goals Essay
* MBA: Catalyst for Career Change

Regarding why now, start with why do you want to go now? Why do you believe you are ready for an MBA? My guess is that it has to do with your reasons for changing career. If those reasons are compelling, "why now" will be obvious.
