Where do you want to live/work immediately after b-school? (i.e. not what you're planning to say in the essays, but what you really want to do in reality).

Truth is I want to stretch myself. Right now I feel my arms are too short to reach on to the business side of any company I belong to. from time to time, I will be able to have minute opportunities but that's not enough for me... Like for instance, in my current company, they want IT people to be just pure technologists.

I feel an MBA will give me the confidence to get out there and explore other work other than IT...

If you end up scoring 700+ on the GMAT, based on your profile, I would say you are a good candidate for pretty much all of the top schools. Which schools are your "dream, realistic, and safety schools"?

Let's say you score 700 on the GMAT then I would say:

Stretch schools: Any of the top 7 schools on US News ranking
Realistic Schools: probably 8-15 on US News rankings
Safety Schools: 16-20+ on US News rankings

You will need to do a lot of legwork to figure out which schools fit your career objectives and lifestyle (fit). I would pick 2-3 schools from each category and go for it!

Good luck!

Thank you for this information. It gave me a confidence that I have a good chance of getting admitted. Then I guess I have to continue my work on GMAT>
