Dear all,

GMAT Score : 780
 GPA : 8.6/10
 College and Degree : From reputed college of India, R.V.C.E , Under graduate in Computer Science and Engineering.
 10th Percentage : 75
 12th Percentage : 75

Have secured a job as Business analyst in Mu Sigma Business Solutions. Will work and gain experience in the field of management studies for 2 years. 
I am planning to apply in fall of 2014.

Please guide me to applying for B-Schools and what is important to be done in the next two years for acquiring scholarship to B-School.

Avishek, Congratulations on a fantastic GMAT score. Among the qualities that all b-schools look out for in their applicants is leadership potential. When you start work, seek opportunities where you are able to grow, make an impact on your organization and can contribute as a team member or as a team leader. Scholarships are given to all rounders mostly and the criteria is generally the same as that for an admission. Don't "build your profile" just to get admission/ scholarship for an MBA program, but because you truly believe in doing it. Best, Namita www.mbadecoder.com

Congratulations on the great GMAT score. It is good that you have started thinking about business school right now as this will provide you time to build your profile as a great MBA candidate. You should focus first to define what you want to achieve in 5 years after business school and start building your skills set for that right now. MBA will help you in that journey and you will be able to have a great story for your business schools essays when you apply. Hi Avishek,

You have an excellent GMAT Score. As per your profile you can also go for MBA fresher Programme. There are some B Schools which provides MBA Fresher Program. Few of them are ISB YLP, HBS 2+2 Program. If you have already decided to go for an MBA after 2 years of gaining some corporate exposure or to apply in fall 2014, then make your mind first which field (specialization) you want to go for MBA.

If you want to go into Marketing then start participating in pre sales activities in your current job. If you want to go into Finance then try to complete courses like Chartered Financial Accountant (CFA) or other courses related to finance. And if you want to go into Consulting then concentrate on your current job.
In MBA you also need to show your extracurricular activities. So it is advisable to start participating in leadership activities in your organization or other social activities.

You can also join some Clubs like Toastmaster International, these are public speaking forums which helps in improving your communication skills & also helps in raising your confidence.

Try to make some contact with the alumni of various B Schools which you are targeting to apply.
