Profile: 28 year old white male from Vancouver, Canada
Work Experience: 6 years at a Higher Education company in a variety of roles. Originally hired as a sales rep, I was then promoted to a Digital Solutions Manager where my main focuses are presenting to committees and creating/implementing internal projects (rep training, digital strategy etc.) In addition to being a Digital Solutions Manager I am currently a Custom Editor as well. In this role I help manage a database and have gained experience working with contracts and tight timelines. I have also completed a marketing & editorial internship with my company and I have hit my sales target every year.
GMAT: 690 (Q44, V40)
College info: Simon Fraser University. 3.67 GPA, Psychology major.
Extra-curriculars: Volunteered in the Social Psychology Lab as a research assistant for three years, tutored psych statistics at the University level, volunteered with the annual departmental open house
Target programs: UBC, Queens University, University of Washington, UC Irvine. Stretch - USC
Post-MBA goal: I would like to transition into marketing, specifically brand management
Coming from a social sciences background in University and a sales background in my career I am unsure of which schools to apply to as I do not have a typical MBA-student profile. Any advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
