Can you please evaluate my profile and if possible give me some school suggestions (based on realistic chances of me getting accepted). I looked at your website and am quite keen to have my application professionally scrutinized.
Age: 29 - Married
Country of Citizenship : India , US Permanent Resident
GMAT: 740 ( 98% ) - Q49(90%) , V42(96%)...AWA not available yet.
Work Experience: - 6+ years ( not including part time ) in the software industry.
- Last 5 years at a top software company with demonstrated leadership role on several projects.
Education:- B.E in Comp. Engg. from a regional college in India (2nd rank in the college).
- M.S in Computer Science ( GPA 3.6 ) from a well known US university. Research assistant with full scholarship including registration fees.
Extra-Curricular/Community Service:- Various positions since '94 at a non-profit organization based in India that provides relief packages to victims of earthquakes, floods and famine. Have managed to stay an active contributor while in the US.
- Trekking expedition leader for a environmental awareness assoc. in the lower Himalayas. This was for 3 years when I was an undergrad.
MBA short term goal:Interested in management consulting for various sectors including but not limited to technology.
MBA long term goal:Start my own consulting firm catering to Asian markets in areas such as infrastructure development.
Factors important to me...- Looking to join a full-time program.
- School ranking and reputation.
- Well "networked" schools with good placement cells.
- Open to European schools but am concerned that a 1 yr program won't suffice for a career change.
- I would like to start B-school next fall ( '07).
- Looking to apply in R1 for all the schools that I finalize.
