I am interested in pursuing an Executive MBA. My undergrad GPA was a 2.25 on a 3 point scale. I have 14 years of work experience. Most recently, 7 years of IT experience. I have programming, requirements management, and project management experience. I am PMP certified. The next steps in my career are program management and/or IT consulting with the eventual goal of IT executive management.
The ideal program for me would be Wharton because of ranking and location. However, they require the GMAT. I have been out of school for a while so I would probably have to put in 3 or 4 months of serious study to achieve a good score. This would not be an issue except many other top programs do not require the GMAT for the EMBA. I do no not want to invest the time in the GMAT if being accepted into Wharton is unrealistic. I am also looking at Columbia, Cornell, Stern and Duke. Kellogg is also attractive but distance may be an issue. Purdue appears to be an excellent value at $69, 000 compared to $120, 000 at other schools. However, I only have one shot at an MBA especially at my age so I want to shoot for the very top. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
