Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here in a while. But with the credit crunch in the US, I am back to thinking about going to business school. If you could kindly critique my profile, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Work Experience
Currently have worked 1.5 years at a large investment bank as an equity research associate
Interned at a start-up investment banking firm for 1 year
4 months lab research assistant for top medical school (formal program)
Volunteered over 100 hours at local hospital
Going to sit for the CFA level I this summer
Goal: I am contemplating getting an mba starting summer of 2008 earliest or summer 2009. My short term goal is to break into the Private equity space. I would be applying to a range of top 25 schools: Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, UC Berkely, UCLA, UVA, Northwestern, Emory, UT Austin, Vanderbilt, Yale, Duke, Insead, LBS, ESADE,IMD, IESE
Current Situation: I was recently laid off from my company due to the effects of the US credit market. So far I have received an offers from a few large middle market investment banks to continue doing equity research. I am also currently interviewing for an investment banking analyst position for a bulge bracket firm.
Concerns: Given my age, is it a bad idea to go into investment banking as a late 2nd year analyst? I feel that it would significatly boost my chances of getting into PE. Anyway, I am not counting on getting the ibanking offer. By the time I start my mba, I would have had 3 years work experience. I feel that my GMAT score is low and since ive already taken it 3 times a few years back, im not sure how that would look to the admins. How does a top MBA from an international school look for US companies? How does a top US mba look for international positions? Thoughts on a 1-year MBA program? Thank you in advance
